PEDAL ASSIST

Your pedal power meets our electric magic

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

An e-bike, or electric cycle, is just like your regular pushbike—but with a battery and motor giving you a handy boost when you need it. You can pedal like usual, or kick in the assist for those longer hauls or cheeky uphill climbs. Perfect for riders of all ages and fitness levels.

Electric bikes blend pedal power with a battery-powered motor. When you start pedalling, the motor jumps in to lend a hand—especially useful for tough terrain or long-distance commutes. You can usually choose how much help you want with different pedal assist levels.

Too right, they are! As long as your e-bike has a motor under 250W and doesn’t exceed 25 km/h, it’s legal to ride without a license or rego. All our models fit the bill and are ready to roll. Except for a couple of our high-performance off-road bikes (which are highlighted as “Off-road only”), all Vterra bikes are compliant with local Australian laws.

Depending on the model and riding conditions, you can expect to go anywhere from 50 to 70 km on a full charge. Things like terrain, rider weight, and pedal assist mode can all make a difference.

You’re usually looking at about 4 to 6 hours for a full top-up. Plug it in overnight, and you’re good to go in the morning.

Vterra e-bikes are rain-ready! They’re built to cope with a bit of drizzle and puddles, but best not to dunk the motor or battery fully in water. Think splash-proof, not scuba gear.

Absolutely—when ridden responsibly. Our bikes come with solid safety features like brake cut-off systems, lights, and indicators. Keep up with regular maintenance and you’ll stay safe on every ride.

Yep! We have smaller frame options for younger riders. At this stage, due to the Australian governement review of E-Scooter specifications, we have paused supply of E-Scooters but will let you know when that it sorted.

Most e-bikes top out around 25–30 km/h, depending on motor power and local speed rules. Just enough to get you cruising without breaking a sweat.
